Why is there a four herb formula & and eight herb formula?
The
original formula given to Rene Caisse consisted of four herbs. Many
herbalists today use this shortened version, which is available as
public domain. This version contains Sheep Sorrell, Burdock Root,
Slippery Elm Bark and Turkish Rhubarb Root. There are still many
companies operating today that make this original version available for
sale. You can even go on the Internet and see the formula and for those
adventurous enough, can buy the herbs and blend it yourself!
While
in Canada, nurse Caisse began experimenting with the formula in
conjunction with Dr. R. O. Fisher. She continued testing other herbs
with the original four, until she left Canada and partnered with Dr.
Charles Brusch (noted scientist and personal physician to President
John F. Kennedy) in 1959. Nurse Caisse spent 8 years at the Brusch
Medical Research Center in Cambridge, MA. working with Dr. Brusch to
create the most effective formula for Essiac, which is now the eight
herb Essiac. This eight-herb formula is proprietary, and it is this
formula we supply to you.
Why is the eight herb formula the best choice for me?
There
is nothing wrong with the original four-herb formula and thousands have
used it successfully. The eight years of scientific experiments and
continued testing by Dr. Brusch and Nurse Rene Caisse has established,
