Product Information

Kids, especially those who are picky eaters, do not always get all of the vitamins and minerals their bodies need through diet alone.

While getting much needed nutrients from food is always best, sometimes adding a supplement to a child's diet is needed to ensure they're getting what their growing bodies need and to reduce the risk of certain deficiencies and illnesses. If a child isn't eating fish at least three times per week or seeds every day, they are missing out on those essential fatty acids that help the brain develop and boost IQ. A supplement containing GLA (omega-6) and DHA and EPA (omega-3) can be added to their diet to ensure she's getting enough good fats to aid brain functioning.

Several studies have shown a link between nutritional deficiencies and mood disorders. One study found that Iron deficiency might contribute to irritability and aggression. Recent studies show 40% of infants and toddlers in the U.S. are not getting enough vitamin D, which is crucial in building strong bones and maintaining the immune system. UBB® Children’s Chewable w/Iron is a delicious, tasty and chewable vitamin that comes in fun animal shapes. This multi-vitamin provides the essential vitamins and minerals needed in an easy to digest one-a-day formula. UBB® Children’s Chewable w/Iron may assist to prevent vitamins and iron deficiency that may occur due to illness, poor nutrition and anemia. UBB® Children’s Chewable w/Iron provides kids with the essential vitamins for them to grow strong, to stay healthy and to strengthen their immune system.

Folic Acid: Quick Facts

A member of the B-vitamin family, folic acid is critical in preventing serious birth defects. This essential nutrient can be found naturally in a wide variety of foods such as some breakfast cereals, orange juice, leafy green vegetables and beans. The benefits of folic acid have gained critical importance in recent years. Specifically, the benefits of folic acid include the ability to prevent birth defects that occur extremely early in pregnancy, usually before a woman is even aware that she is pregnant. Birth defects such as Spina Bifida and anencephaly result from a deficiency of folic acid in the mother in the early weeks of the pregnancy, usually around week four or five.
